Mark Sunday, September 28th on your calendars now!
For 2014, we will be combining our annual Road ride and Ironman events to coincide with the PVR club picnic. The Road ride is open to all riders on vintage bikes and will begin in the NOVA/DC area and wander through the picturesque Potomac countryside and end up at Tomahawk MX Park in West Virginia. At the same time, vintage off road riders will be assembling and participating in the annual Ironman event. This will allow members from all disciplines to get together for an early fall afternoon and enjoy a brew and barbeque feast hosted by Bill and Eva for the PVR Club Picnic.
We have had several requests to move this event to a Sunday so, this years event will be held on Sunday, September 28th at Tomahawk MX Park in Hedgeville, WV
More details to follow from Road ride chair, Mike Perry and Ironman chair, Brian O’Connor.
Mark Barnett, winner of three consecutive AMA 125cc national championships between 1980 and 1982, rider for team America in the 1983 Motocross des Nations Championship and the 1981 Supercross champion. Mark competed in the AHRMA event at Unadilla, NY in early June. Shown here aboard Joe Kelly’s CZ, sporting a PVR jersey.
On October 13, 2012 Wayne Miller hosted a group of PVR members and their families for the annual Una-Miller ride. Members wound down the 2012 riding season with laps on Waynes vintage friendly grass track.
Members brought out a wide variety of machinery: everything from Can-Ams to restored elsinores, Ducatis and Triumphs.
Once riders had their fill of riding, Wayne fired up the grill and cooked up food for the group.
Buzzy took some photos of the group and their machinery:
The annual, 2012 PVR Picnic and Iron Man event will be held at Tomahawk MX Park on September 22, 2012.
Due to the overwhelming success of last year’s event, we are adding another discipline for a total of 5 events plus the wild card.
Hope to see you there!
